SUMMARY:Can White People Be Allies to Black People? Throwing a Wrench in the Machinery of Racism
DESCRIPTION:Alice Camille\nNot for White People Only, this isn’t properly a “retreat” so much as hopefully an “advance” into the uncomfortable but vital conversation on race in this country. Our premise is that racism isn’t a Black problem, it’s a White problem. We must all rise up in consciousness and will together to overcome and defeat this sin.\nAlice Camille, M.Div., is a writer, catechist, retreat leader and author of over twenty books on Scripture and church teaching. She is invested in ecumenical and interfaith conversations, active listening to LGBTQ+ communities and dialogue across racial and ethnic divides.\nRev. Paul Boudreau of the Diocese of Norwich, CT, provides provocative and challenging visual support to these presentations.\nThis program will be available in-person and online. Pre-registration is required to receive the link.\nSuggested Donation: $55\nLimited overnight accommodations available for Friday night: $45\nFriday, February 9, 2024 7:00 – 9:00 pm\nSaturday, February 10, 2024 9:30 am – 4:00 pm\n
