11th Annual Women’s Retreat

Sep 16, 2026

The Rock Hill Oratory Center for Spirituality welcomed women from across the community on Saturday, September 12, for its 11th Annual Women’s Retreat.

This year’s retreat, “Prophets of Nonviolence: Jesus, Gandhi, Day and King,” was led by Sister Susan Schorsten, H.M. Throughout the day, Sr. Susan invited participants to reflect on the lives and examples of Jesus, Mahatma Gandhi, Dorothy Day and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and their witness to peace and nonviolence.

The day provided opportunities for prayer, reflection, conversation and fellowship. Participants gathered for morning and afternoon sessions, celebrated Mass together at noon and shared lunch at The Oratory.

The retreat also offered an opportunity to support Her Place, a 24-hour transitional home for women. A special table featuring candles for sale was available throughout the day, with proceeds supporting the ministry and its work with women in need.

The Center for Spirituality is grateful to Sr. Susan for leading this meaningful day and to all of the women who joined us. Their presence and participation helped make the 11th Annual Women’s Retreat a wonderful day of faith, fellowship and reflection.

We look forward to continuing to provide opportunities for prayer, spiritual growth and community through upcoming programs at the Rock Hill Oratory Center for Spirituality.
