Jesus’ Passion and Resurrection in the Gospel of Matthew
Thursday, March 19, 2026 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon
Dr. Peter Judge
This coming Palm Sunday and Easter, we will hear Matthew’s account of Jesus’ Passion and Resurrection. Each of our New Testament gospels tells of Jesus’ Trial, Passion, Death, and Resurrection. The basic story is the same, but each evangelist has a unique way of proclaiming the story to shed light on how we understand the meaning of Jesus’ death and rising. In this session, we will examine Matthew’s portrayal of these central events of salvation (found in Matthew 26-28), especially by comparison with the other gospels.
