How to Have a Civil Conversation in a Time of
Anger and Polarization
April 1, 2024 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Deacon Clarke Cochran
Our social and civic lives are too often riven by anger and polarization. These viruses infect even our Catholic life. This presentation suggests practical ways of living with, and even overcoming, our deepest divisions. We will consider how to engage in constructive dialogue with persons whose views challenge our own. Our time will include conversation about attendees’ experiences of success and failure in conversation, as well as our hopes and dreams for Church and nation.
Clarke Cochran serves as Deacon at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Charlotte, NC.
